On August 11, at the Passetto in Ancona, the new Menarini Citymood buses destined for Conerobus’ urban public transport service were presented in the presence of Deputy Mayor and Mobility Councillor Giovanni Zinni, Conerobus President Italo D’Angelo, and representatives of local institutions and public transport organisations.
The eight methane-powered vehicles, which entered service in Ancona in recent days, are 10.5 metres long and are equipped with Re-Compact seats by Lazzerini, designed and manufactured at the company’s plant in Monsano.
Re-Compact is made using waste materials otherwise destined for landfill, reducing the use of petroleum-based virgin raw materials by up to 90%. And the process does not stop there: Re-Compact is 100% recyclable and can be recovered and reintroduced into the production cycle.
The presence of Re-Compact on Conerobus’ new buses is a concrete example of how innovation, the circular economy and a focus on the local area can come together to develop solutions for increasingly sustainable urban mobility.
