Lazzerini received the SMAU Innovation Award 2026 during SMAU Marche, the event dedicated to innovation and open innovation held at the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona. The award recognizes the company’s innovation journey and, in particular, the Re-Compact project, which introduces to the market an innovative lightweight and sustainable seat made from 87% plastic recovered from landfills and designed to be fully recyclable at the end of its life cycle. This initiative is a concrete example of circular economy principles in action, combining environmental sustainability, quality, safety, and high performance.
“We are honored to receive this recognition, which represents an important confirmation of the path Lazzerini has undertaken” said Alessandro Cirioni, CFO of Lazzerini. “Innovation is an integral part of our identity and stems from our commitment to designing solutions that meet market needs while contributing to increasingly sustainable mobility. With Re-Compact, we have demonstrated that the principles of the circular economy can be translated into a high-performance industrial product capable of reducing the use of virgin raw materials without compromising quality, design, or safety. This award encourages us to continue our research and development efforts, further strengthening our commitment to a more responsible industry.”
During SMAU Marche, Lazzerini also took part in the Live Show “Energy, Sustainability and Innovation: Drivers of Growth” where Amedeo Russo, Engineering Manager, presented the journey that led to the development of Re-Compact and accepted the award on the company’s behalf.
